Black and white, aka “monochrome”. A self applied artistic limitation. Artistic limitations breed creative solutions. Minit has a premise. That premise is a self imposed limitation on the player. A time loop? Kinda. Die every minute? Yes. A reflection on life? Maybe.
You live life every day with most ending in your bed and beginning with your bed and home. Life is a roguelike? Roguelite? Maybe just some elements. I guess it’s all Rogue in the long term. Hardcore Rogue, one shot.
Minit has a gimmick. Immediately intriguing. Not as extensive as could have been. Don’t like having high expectations, but as a child of Majora’s Mask, I knew what this done to near perfection looks like.
This game simultaneously leaves so much on the table and overstays its welcome. Fun for a short romp but don’t expect much. I will try to avoid price discussions but this feels like a free or $3 effort, not $10.
