Games like this demonstrate the depth of the current indie environment. Spoiler alert, I really enjoyed this game. That probably says a lot about me but the crass, irreverant humor was spot on. The fact this exists and is polished as it is, amazes me. It’s not a perfect game but the premise and swinging take on 3D platforming was refreshing.

Any game that explores hell starts with a leg up to me. Agony is supposed to be a horrible game but I bought it over a year ago and will one day attempt a play. Hell Pie is a much more cutesy take and also has Beavis and Butthead style humor.

The worlds to explore are lavish, beautiful, and varied, although the game does suffer from some lag (a common complaint from reading online). A few tweaks to performance and it wasn’t too bad, playable at least. The progress tree gives you some agency over how you play and approach puzzles but nothing ever feels entirely unreachable.

Satisfying controls, smooth graphics, toilet humor, and way more than a pinch of Hell.
