A short journey of subversion spiraling into dark, humorous existentialism. Like Stanley Parable had children with How Fish Is Made. That is to say, an office environment simulation combined with body horror and questions of sanity. The unreliable narrator is a trope taken for granted in modern fiction. We, as a cultural audience, are more self aware than ever before, reading the meta framework with which stories are told to us. There are now clear indicators and clichés that feed the unreliable narrator perspective.
That said, much of the content we consume has been funneled through a very specific formula, designed for success. Huge media companies chase the almighty dollar while shirking creativity. Why gamble on a new idea instead of a bankable remake or sequel. This problem is not necessarily new.
