Horror is evergreen. In this offshoot era of entertainment consumption nearing its logical limit we like to be scared, particularly by the supernatural. Scared and sacred are anagrams. This is a fascinating phenomena given the amount of true life horrors committed and witnessed around this planet consistently. Are you not entertained?

Death seems to be the ultimate jump scare driver. That gut instinct of something hidden popping out. A panther slinking stealthily in the bush before pouncing into an oblivious target, the shocked human, dinner. A creepy tall man who feels perpetually behind you, always there but out of physical reach… until they choose to be.

This game is not very scare, in all actuality they did get me to respond to one jump scare, and a non “life threatening” one to boot! It was still fun. Those liminal moments of being alone in a house you aren’t familiar with. The feeling of being watched. But I never felt true horror, it was a very detached experience.

The gimmick being that you can clap. Give me a button that makes a sound. Clap. Turn on the lights. Clap clap. Turn off the lights. Clap clap. I think the notes mention this was the very first game made by the developer and I see promise in the effort. It was/is free.
